$50 vs. $350 Water Pipe
Does a $50 bong function as well as a $350 bong? Should I even really pay more than $100 for a water pipe? Why should I pay this much money for this rig?
These are all questions you probably ask yourself when shopping for a new water pipe aka “bong”. They are somewhat of an investment and you want to make sure you are getting your money’s worth. The quality of the product is often determine by it’s price range. A standard water pipe features a bowl, a stem, and a base. A more elaborate water pipe would include all these, as well as some sort of extra feature, such as a diffuser, ice catcher, percolator, or interchangeable bowl piece.

This 7 inch water pipe is great in size and strength. The size makes it easy to carry, therefore difficult to break during a sesh. Because of it’s simplicity,it’s function is straight to the point and doesn’t involve any special knowledge, other than puff puff pass.

14″ Double Turbine Honey Comb Water Pipe

Now here is a piece that lies in the middle on the price range scale. This 14 inch water pipe is simple in design but has all the extra features that give you a super smooth hit every time. The two honey comb percs allow the smoke to filter before hitting the turbine disc in the middle. The turbine spins the water and slows it down reducing the majority of the splash and “throat burn”. What’s also unique about this piece, that makes it a big more expensive, is that it can be converted into a dab rig as well because of the interchangeable bowl and joint piece.

9.5″ Inline to Donut Perc Water Pipe
This is the most expensive piece on the list, mostly because of it’s design. But do not be fooled by it’s artsy look, this water pipe still does functions very well. It has a slitted inline stem, donut percolator, glass filter built in the bowl, and can also be converted into a dab rig. The unique design and smooth hits make it worth every penny.

So which one is the winner? It truly depends on what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to spend. In my personal opinion, the $150 double honey perc water pipe is the best deal because you get all the features of a high end water pipe without spending too much. If you have the budget to spend $350 on a piece, go for it because more than likely that piece will last longer.
