Strain Review: Girl Scout Cookies
Girl Scout Cookies is an indica dominant hybrid great for treating insomnia, depression, stress, and pain. But do not be fooled by it’s wholesome name, GSC is stronger than you would expect. I do not recommend this for new or low tolerance smokers. The first time I smoked girl scout cookies was also the first time I experienced “couch lock“.But my entire body was so relaxed it wasn’t at all uncomfortable or overwhelming.
Everyone has different experiences with different strains so in order to better this review I’ll give you a brief background on my marijuana experience. I am California medical marijuana patient that uses it as a treatment for my anxiety, stress, anemia, and occasional physical pains. My tolerance is at a medium level so I most enjoy strains that don’t take a lot of time to set in but also don’t get me too high. My favorite ways to medicate is with a simple joint, blunt, or flower rig. I also prefer indica over sativas, but always enjoy a good cross of the two. GSC is one of those perfect sativa and indica smoothies.
GSC is a cross off OG Kush, and indica dominant hybrid, and Durban Poison, a strong sativa. The last time I had Durban Poison I felt like I was walking on tight rope after drink a bunch of coffee, it was very overwhelming. This is a calmed down version of that because of the addition of the always enjoyable OG Kush bring down that heavy heady feeling.
“A little goes a long way with this hybrid, whose THC heights have won Girl Scout Cookies numerous Cannabis Cup awards. Patients needing a strong dose of relief, however, may look to GSC for severe pain, nausea, and appetite loss,” according to Leafly.
GSC originated in California, home of many famous strains, but has become popular all over in the last few years. I usually have to call my dispensary before hand to see if it’s still in stock and when it is I rush over as quickly as can because sells out so quickly. There are other variations of this strains as well: Platinum GSC, Thin Mint GSC, and Bhang GSC.
Overall GSC taste good (minty and earthy) , smokes well, and is does it’s job effectively. I have never had any negative experience with GSC and doubt that I ever will.
